Hi all,
Not only we are dedicated to developing software for falicitar the macro photography, also focus rail are developing high quality professionals to make them.
In this case, I am pleased to present the MacroRail vertical version, one lane of high performance professional approach with a base resolution of 1.6 microns.
Although the design that I present in the photos has no embedded electronics box in the column itself, the final version if it will, leaving a much more stylish device.
Due to their mechanical, can withstand heavy weights so there is no impediment to not only put a camera, also the head of a trinocular microscope or magnifying glass. In some pictures we see an accessory specifically made for it as an example where we have a head of a Nikon binocular loupe.
There is another attachment which corresponds to four column legs separating the base and placing these therein, becomes a MacroRail horizontal.
Another accessory is a base with a ball joint, another 3D table, etc.
How to upload photos on this forum are very small, to see more better you can do it in:

I forgot to comment on a couple of details:
- The motor and belt / pulley enclosed in a cabinet will laser cut to protect the device.
- When it comes to a resolution of 1.6 microns basis means. If you need more resolution, eg 1 micron or less can change the pulley ratio to achieve those values.
Any questions beg you please do you do it by private message.

Now you can select the YoutTube icon from the Home Page and see a video demonstration of the whole:
"Demostration use of MacroRail Professional Vertical version and Macrophotography Software Control version 1.0.3.2. You can see how is the MacroRail and how to stack Cornwallite sample photos. Move the MacroRail with microns precision, take photos in this case with Canon EOS 600D camera, Stack photos with call to Helicon and Zerene programs, add more photos to stack and edit, etc."

Oscar, here's something to consider now that you are still in preparation mode:
Gemologists typically use bright- and darkfield lighting and work with stereoscopes that have 90-100mm working distances. This implies that one would be using a lighting setup that is 50-100mm high which lives directly on the base plate, have a gemclip mounted roughly 40mm above that lighting setup and then have one's objective living another 100mm higher again. This would require the ability to mount your objective at ~250mm above the stage and then be able to have travel upwards of about 100mm in order to have some room to play around.
Although your current mounting bracket caters for a lot of scopes (mounting them by sliding the objective in a ring) I need to bring to your attention that most true photomicroscopes (Wild M400, Leica Z6 etc, the ones I'd want to use with your setup) can't be mounted with a simple ring but would require mounting at their original mounting bracket which lives another 150mm above the objective.
All this brings me to the question: How high is that vertical mast?
