I am sure many of us, were watching this wonderful hoard of great gemmo equipment, that just finished up on fleabay. The seller told me, that it belonged to his friends grandmother, who must have been an astute buyer of equipment.

Somebody won eight of these auctions. The person was outbid on two of them, I think. Nonetheless, Christmas came early for somebody. Congratulations.
Great price on the horizontal outfit. If you need help fitting a scope to it, just PM me. There are lots of better scopes than the one that came with it anyway. (somebody else won that one)

Hello,

There was also the Okuba diamond grading microscope: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Okuda-Diamond-G ... 4d15dbd0ce

Do you know if it is the same person who also won that one?

Thank you Frank! :D
Brigitte you can see who won the auction by clicking on the "bids" numercal report.(next to the winning bid price) It takes you to a page showing all the bids. They USED to give you the ID of each bidder. But because people would frequently contact the second place bidder(and sell them a similar item without paying ebay fees) , they started hiding IDs. But you can still tell if its the same person because the feedback numbers and the initials they use are to hide the persons ID are the same.
Using that information we can see that the person who won the Okuda scope and the person who won the above eight auctions are not the identical persons. The multiple auction winner is identified as r**r(678). The Okuda scope winner different.

I liked the old system because you could experience proper annoyance with someone who regularly outbid you. There is a great microscope dealer who has a big business who used to regularly outbid me.
(I regularly do business with him) He was a bit of a hog in his acquisition of gear and also traffics in a lot of Wild gear. What is funny is that many many other smaller dealers are also annoyed with him because he did so much on ebay. But you have to respect the guy. Now you would need to keep a list (of IDs of your comptetitors)and I don't care enough to do that. You could also see what your pals were buying.

Good evening,

Thank you for answering.

I was hoping that you got it.

It seems to be a real jewell. As I like vintage related to jewellery instrument, I thought it was really interesting. Maybe if that item comes back, later, I will try to have it.

But I am happy to know its existence. I searched on internet and found good information. That was interesting.
