We received a phone order from a fellow named Jeff Morris and from the beginning it was fishy. He wanted to buy a very inexpensive pair of vintage cuff links. When we take cc orders on the phone, the mailing and billing address must be the same. His info checked out and we got the avs verification code YYY on the terminal (which means the address verification matches), waited several days, called the cc company and everything checked out. Here's the problem: Search "Jeff Morris" and scam and you come up with an email very similar to the one we were given. Ours gave us the email morrisjeff300@gmail and there is a morrisjeff320@gmail out there doing scammy type stuff - just not retail scams.
But we shipped it because our cost was so low that we though what the heck. The minute he received the shipment confirmation email, he called back trying to buy 2 more expensive pieces.
We said no and he never called back. Nor did anyone take delivery of the package - so we recalled it.
