For those of us interested in a larger fancy coloured investment diamond.

A value similar to a huge mansion or castle including it´s vast parks, concentrated into a few cubic centimeters fitting into everyones pocket.

Comes GIA certified, a unique "crown jewel" - sort of piece.

Price, weight, measurements as well as seller´s identity are not disclosed to people without bank guarranteed sufficient funds.

Understandable somehow, since price tag is >30 million Euros,

Image shows rough crystal and cut gem.

have a look gemlovers, my bank clerk called to say no  ....

I'd be really impressed except for the fact I find it rather ugly :? . But, to each his own :D .

The shape looks rather like the 'Incoparable' doesn't it? (so much for 'incomparable'!) Those two are of similar size too, aren't they... Now, it couldn't be the same duck, could it? :?

So that's a composite picture of the finished diamond and the rough it came from?

If so, it's interesting to me that the finished piece has a much lighter tone than the rough. Most colored stone (esp. garnet) go darker on cutting.

...your bank clerk had to call you back?! Wow, mine just laughed at me. ;-)

The shape of the diamond really appeals to me.
I am not a fan of the cookie cutter round brilliants...Hearts on Fire puts me to sleep: Image

Hard to tell what it really is from the photo but I wonder if someone was more than a bit upset that it came back brownish yellow instead of orange and yellow. Or maybe it doesn't matter so much in surreal sizes like that? :)

I'd pick 'mirror image'... the pictures seem to be of the same rough stone from slightly different angles (about 30 degrees turn) :?

well I certainly do not see everything that comes up in the world of coloured diamonds, but I've never heard of this stone, and you would think at that size one of us would have. It looks a little fishy to me. The picture looks fishy, and I swear I have seen that same exact shape of squatty pear before. I'm not saying this is not real, but it would not be the worst hoax I have seen. I once had a guy try to sell me a group of coloured diamonds with a whole computer presentation and investment prospectus. It was very impressive. The only problem was they were MY diamonds.....

plus i'm afraid all the bankers at least here in the US aren't willing to give 10 euros, so 30 mill may be tough.

Love to see that baby in person if it is legit..... :D

No connection, just pleasant news chatter: a historic diamond under the hammer (figuratively speaking  )

Wittelsbach blue at Christie's

Will be interesting to see where that Historic Gem will end and at what price..., I believe US15Mil is a serious under shooting in price..., I suspect it will fetch a much higher sum...
