Two retailers—seemingly in a reaction to showrooming—have experimented with “just looking” fees and similar charges for customers who browse but don’t buy.
Clearly these merchants aren't concerned about their Yelp reviews.

There's been many a time I've been "just looking" and ended up buying. I would have never entered a store that charged a "lookie-loo" fee. Hmm ... ... imagine the money I could have saved!

I've been wondering how the stores plan to enforce this rule. Will everyone pay an admission fee to enter the store, refundable if they buy something? Or will armed guards detain people as they try to leave unless they pay up? This sounds like something NYC Mayor Bloomberg dreamed up
