Sometimes I see something that makes so much sense to me that I can't believe somebody didn't do it a hundred years ago and save us slower denizens a lot of trouble. I was setting up a new microscope and found that the stone holders are now held in place with magnet balls instead of friction clips. They work so slick that I can't believe I put u[ with the clips for so long. Sorry, but I am easily amused. Thank you GemOro.

The reason it wasn't done before is that the powerful, rare earth magnets used have only recently been developed.

thanks. Now I happy for the people who developed the powerful rare earth magnets. I am glad these people are looking out for me.
