Haha, I thought as much. To a cat person, a dog is a culture shock. Cats can love us, but are still aloof and independent. A dog worships and needs us. My brother in law has a dog who adores him. He recently retired from his career and now works only for Gearloose. The dog is forever STARING at him as though he cannot believe that his "god" is there 25/7. The dog has been squealing in rapture constantly, capering around like a Yorkie, though he weighs 85 Pounds. They form relationships with us different than any other animal. When my wife's dog died, she could never have another, and frankly was never the same person afterward. It's a special relationship based on perfect love and trust, something we rarely, if ever, get from a human. It was not much different for me when mine died. From time to time I think of getting another, but at this point in my life I believe it would be wrong. In the above picture, I was wearing a headset, because my business is open 7 days a week. I often talk to dealers and customers when I am walking with Iggy. If it rings I have to. A dog would sulk at being ignored. A stick or ball needs to be thrown, for example.
I used to take Pepper the Yorkie over to the park and take a boomerang. In a light headwind, it would seem to hover, and he'd be running around in circles waiting for it to land. A cat doesn't care if one is busy. They have Important Thoughts going on.

Happy belated birthday! This thread was actually from last year!
This year we were in an internet void area of NC and I refuse to own a smart phone. Too many years of being tied to electronics. Hope you can make it back one of these years.
Hope you had a good one. Any day above ground and with a cat is a good one!

It is indeed Winter! Today wasn't too bad, Sun out but no icy winds from the 40's or further South, the heater's been getting a workout though.
LOL, I wish I could divulge the lottery numbers but if I did that you might go on extended leave. I don't think I'd find a safe spot to hide if that happened.
