well there's not much to be said. It's a metamorphic limestone, natural fracturation and mineral salts infiltrations gave it its colors and patterns. It's also called 'Florence marble' or 'Tuscany marble', due to the locations were it's extracted.

You got very nice samples of "paesina" there. I wish it were ALL that pretty. The only drawback of the pietra paesina is the hardness, being a limestone. It's very fine-grained, so it takes a nice polish, but you cannot compare the shine with the one you get e.g. on porcelain jaspers.
