http://www.leitzmuseum.org/getmicrocollection.html

I have bought and sold with this guy who as you will see is a crazier collector than I am.
His restorations are beautiful. Click on the link and scroll down to the "1950s gem microscope" link. I wonder whether this was something designed or specified by Dr. Gubelin.

He also has a pearl endoscope which you can see on his "Wazzit?" pages. He outbid me (as did others) on that one. I hope to talk him out of it one day.

Enjoy!

Looks like the one that Barbra uses as an avatar. He's looking for any backgrround information on this unit. Barbra? Your days in Idar-Oberstein? Know more?

As for his Mamiyaflex - a great camera!. I note that he bought his on 47th St (NY) in '76. Mine was stolen (along with other things) from unaccompanied baggage shipping from Belize to UK via the USA . Spooky or what? :roll:

@Earthling

Thank you for the link. For no particular reason I did not have a bookmark for Schneider.
And when people on this list started talking about their Harald Schneider loupes I started wondering whether there was a connection between Harald Schneider and Hans Gunter Schneider who was his father as mentioned on the link you provided.

The scope that my friend renovated and displays looks identical to the one in the Schneider pages. I will forward them to the gentleman who has it.

I always like to look at deals for gemmo gear but lately am only buying things which I don't have (which is almost nothing) or are a great buy. If you see such a thing but don't want it yourself feel free to send me a PM or email.

G
