Need some help with identifying this rock. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would start by defining this unknown as a mineral not a rock.
Rocks are composed of several minerals. This specimen appears to be only one.

In order to identify a mineral, we need to collect information to rule OUT possibilities.


Report back with additional clues.

Thanks for the video. The mineral is non-metallic. The breakage is cleavage on one side, and on the other side fracture. Took a picture of it with me holding a flashlight under it to make the colors a bit more discernable. As for hardness, I scratch tested it on a quarter, and it scratched it on the slightest contact. That's all the info I have...Any thoughts?

Try a few drops of muratic acid...or even vinegar. Does it fizz?
