I’m writing on behalf of the Gems and Jewelry discipline of the American Society of Appraisers to invite you to two important courses, developed and taught by some of our members, to be held in Dallas one month from now.

The first, “Appraising Gems & Jewelry for Advanced Assignments,” http://www.appraisers.org/Education/View-Class?ClassID=3501is a 3-1/2 day class that covers higher-risk, more lucrative appraisal assignments, such as estate tax and charitable contribution. If you want to be armed with the legal background and most current methodology to perform these and other advanced assignments, here is a wonderful opportunity to gain this knowledge from two of the leading minds in our field, Mark Cartwright, ASA, MGA; ICGA, AGS; CGA, NAJA; GIA Graduate Gemologist; and Mary Reich, ASA, MGA; CSM, NAJA; GIA Graduate Gemologist; FGA. For a deeper understanding of gems and jewelry appraising, please do not miss this chance to do so live, in person, in a focused classroom environment with other gems and jewelry appraisers. The dates are Wednesday, March 16th through Saturday, March 19th.

Starting right afterwards is “The Fashion & The Flair,” http://www.appraisers.org/Education/View-Class?ClassID=3506 March 19th-20th, an informative and entertaining overview of the relationship between jewelry design, on the one hand, and fashion and socioeconomic influences from the Georgian period to mid-20th century. A must for anyone studying period jewelry, it is presented by Mona Miller, FASA, MGA; ICGA, AGS; Member, NAJA; GIA Graduate Gemologist; FGA.

Please don’t hesitate to ask me if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you in Dallas next month!
