Good Morning guys,
It's been a while since I posted last!
I'm trying to put together basic information sheets for my jewellery students here in KL about the major gemstones - just fun relevant stuff not delving too deeply into gemmology yet. I'm looking for reliable historical data on the first use of rubies, sapphires, emeralds etc and all my books are currently on a ship from England to Malaysia! it doesn't have to be their use in jewellery necessarily - but what I would really like to get is solid proven information - not internet waffle he he
Can anyone suggest any reliable online reading? It's tough work sifting nowadays!
Thanks for any leads Lucy

"She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor." - Proverbs 3:15-18 (Indicating that rubies were esteemed well over 2,000 years ago.)
Also if you do a google image search on "hoard" and "treasure" you will find examples of gem and precious metal treasures that go way back into the bronze age and earlier.
