Thanks for posting this! I have, what I believe to be, a palladium bracelet and necklace that had marked caratage that didn't make sense. It tested as 4 carat gold, and it's specific gravity was in the right range for palladium + gold. I finally heated part of it with a torch out of frustration and it turned an absolutely lovely purple/blue/green colors. I found mention of the oxidation somewhere; I believe in Renee Newman's book. It also tested positive using acid for platinum. Now, I just need to acquire some DMG to confirm what I think I know.
