Hello my name is Melissa and i am new here. First of all I would like say this is great forum and very educational and couldn't have found it at a better time. I have recently had some vintage jewerly passed down to me and can identify all the saphires but would really like to have them graded. I have two other that are suspose to saphire but not quite sure. They are stunning and have got me very curious about them. Before i go any further I have took all these pieces to three different jewerly stores. The first i mentioned about the saphires they also confirmed. The big masquise cut i had three different opinions on. All agreed it was a natural gem but neither agreed on the type. The other us a rectangle cut anfld has some very unique qualities when placed ib lighting. It appears dark blue to the naked eye however when i shine a light through it, it shines this very pretty green and has light blue veins running through it and lines. Now all these are set in 10k which i know it's uncommon for real gems to be placed in a inexpensive setting. However i asked my father and he has bought all these for my grandmother but bought the gems individually and had them placed. The green gem was bought out if country while he was traveling. The ring it sets in gas India stamped with 10 k. On The other side it has another stamp that looks like a animal of some sort. I really need these appraised and graded plus curiosity is flat out killing me. Unfortunately where i live there is no one really qualified to do so. Do you all know how much it would cost for this.
