Hello ,

This ring reminds me of the engagement rings in the 60s in France, a vertical overlay of metal shapes giving the illusion of a bigger diamond.
One of the marks seems to be the French eagle, the other inscribed in a lozenge, the master's mark.
The diamond is old cut .

Definitely French 18k gold.

I agree, it appears to be a mid-century engagement ring.
The diamond was cut earlier in the century and repurposed for use as an engagement diamond.
