Hi ,

I wonder how did experts in China or Burma tell the difference between a natural ' chi ' , imperial green and a dyed ' chi ' . Present day FTIR may still not be available to most in this region , yet a multi million dollar business still goes on without this final test.

Is there more to traditionally old practices of judging jade without science , than is known to out side world ?

With greater experience in seeing the stones you can tell by the way the color is accepted by the stone. Mistakes have been made in the field, I am sure.
