I just tried to call Jarvi Tool Company to get some information on my Facetron and both their numbers are disconnected...? Anyone have any information on this?

Sorry but that's not the case, I just spoke with Jeanne Jarvi. There is a telephone number at the top of the website that works just fine.

I guess if the facebookers say so it must be true. I think I will wait for the company to post they are "going out of business" before making any final judgements.

As of the end of June they are officially out of business.

On a phone call, Jean told me they will still be doing repairs as they have parts. Call first, the address is not the same!!!

She also said that they had sold the blueprints for the machine to someone that they believed would do the brand right. Have to see where it goes from here!

i as well spoke with Jeane and was told they were retiring at that date, saying they are out of business because they will not continue to sell machines out from then, but still maintain their obligations to current and past customers for repairs and parts to me is a somewhat hurtful term. I too was told someone very local is looking at the continued work they spent many many years developing. But it is what it is.

So sorry to hear about this. I have long considered the Jarvies as good friends.

I am hopefull that the new pwners of the Facetron design will make make machines.

I want to wish Jeff and Jeannea all the best in their retirement.

Wow, both happy and sad news. Happy they're able to retire, but sad that we've lost another long-time faceting machine manufacturer.

This industry is rather precarious for the buyers these days as in past almost all the machine manufacturers were small family-run businesses. There are precious few large players with succession plans. I hope that we see some new reliable entrants to the market, especially for the generic supplies like dops.
