Hello,

I just joined yesterday after reading a bit about microscopes. I was browsing some on Ebay and came across this Amscope GM400TZ model that looks like what I want in a scope for the right price. At least for what I can reasonably afford, or want to afford at present. I have read that they are not the best option however.

I really would like to take photos with it so preferably a trinocular scope with a stand that inclines. I would love some suggestions on brands that are better than the Amscope but aren't exactly $5000.00. Is this asking too much? lol

Thanks kindly.

Nobody?

What about this one:

I really would like to purchase one soon as I am studying the Gem-A Foundation course and after have plans for the Diploma. I quite enjoy using the ones at school.

That scope is a pretty good value. You won't go wrong nor be unhappy with it.
A local appraiser friend of mine has one and is quite happy with it.

Hello Andrea,

I did purchase one of them and am quite happy with it! It is an awesome scope for the money. I got mine from Jewelry Television http://www.jtv.com and it sells there for $2,295, which is about $700 cheaper than on Amazon. If you have specific questions about it, let me know.
