Hello and thank you for allowing me to join. I have just earned my graduate colored stones degree and working on diamonds for my GG. My student equipment is not adequate for professional
work leading me into researching new equipment. I am GIA trained and plan to travel so I have narrowed it down to a kruss professional travel lab or a portalab. The latter seems to fit my training better but I'm having difficulty finding one to buy. The kruss can perform horizontal but portalab has fiber optic lighting that I'm used to more than immersion. Just starting out I have limited funds and poor choice can really hurt me from start. Any advice from you veteran gemologist as to which if any you prefer would be helpful.
