Hi,

I’m looking to purchase a mark x GIA scope I found online- the original post wasn’t specific about the magnification but I thought I recognized the Leica head as being a stereozoom 6. However, when the seller sent me a profile picture all it says is stereo zoom.

I have pictures below to clarify.

Does anyone have any experience with Leica optics like this? I’ve bought a few used microscopes but optic model was always indicated.

Thank you

I believe this is indeed a 6, just with later branding. It will be OK as-is but you'd probably want to uograde to an original B&L SZ7 anyway. I tried one of these leica sz6s once and didn't like it nearly as much as my sz7. There is a nice-looking one on eBay now that includes some aux lenses too for maximal zoom: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3883672192
