Greetings I've spent a significant amount of time trying to buy Refractol online with no success. It seems it has been discontinued for a long, long time. I have found many crazy chemicals and none seem very friendly. The only thing that comes close to Tourmaline's RI is carbon disulfide with an RI of 1.63. Should I just go for one of those chemicals or try to settle with lower RI Refractol substitutes I've found online (mainly in Etsy). I would appreciate any valuable input |

Yeah, I think refractol is toast, but there are lots of substitutes. Adamas markets one, Wayne Emery has one, there are some on Etsy, and here's a thread about it on the USFG https://usfacetersguild.org/forums/topi ... available/ |

Refractol is benzyl benzoate which is easy to find RI =1.568 Do not buy or do ANYTHING with carbon disulphide. Very toxic. On the short list of things I won't fool with which should scare away anybody. |
