The one downside I see to Meiji stereos is that they don't have any apochromatic options, which is too bad. They make a really nice-looking clone of the Olympus SZH-10 which I'd love to get my hands on. For gem photography depending on the subject sometimes apo optics matter, sometimes they don't, and a lot can be corrected in software as well, but it's always nicer to have than to not.
