Mikko, specifically. He is in Finland, See if he and Alberto are doing any local demonstrations and bring your unknown to the show.

Thanks for that, and to think, I drove through that town a couple of months ago, I doubt I'll time for awhile, but I could drop them a line and see what they have planned for next year within Finland. Be interesting to see one of those things working too.

Raman'll sort it out quickly, though if it's a mix you might only get signal from one. The hydrogrossular/vesuvianits I have tested seemed to pretty much scan as one or the other though, these were classic yellow green mix material from Afghanistan or Pakistan.

Quick could help, as I mentioned earlier, I did pick up a few in various shades :D

Just out of my own personal curiosity what is your appeal in collecting these.

That may be the largest collection I've seen. Not a color and clarity everyone would appreciate. I'm glad these stones found a loving home. :D

They are all in pretty significant size as well. I just wondered if it was rarity or their properties, maybe in a UV environmental display. You know how some minerals are collected for display based on their fluorescence.

Same reason you asked, curiosity, I collect stones, mainly odd ones, when i read about some new find in 2018, i had to find one, and did. Much to my surprise it fluoresced pinkish orange. https://www.gemstonemagnetism.com/grossular_garnet mention pink and green hydrogrossular fluorescing, but not the white.
Members of my rock club thought they where quartz, a few tests, RI and SG showed they wasn't. Vesuvianite was a possibility, and still is, but https://www.fluomin.org/uk/fiche.php?id=153 doesn't show that colour of fluorescence.
Then I wondered if other off white ones did a similar thing, and it snowballed.
Most are badly cut, but of big enough size to be recut if they turn out to be of any real value to anyone else, I have a few dark green ones, that also do it.
I have most of the tools do to the standard tests, but that's all i can do, and I'm limited with the time I can do it. It will take awhile to get the numbers on the rest, but I will, and they all fluoresce. Some stronger than others.
It'll be a long 'work in progress', but its fun :D

Most stones deserve a good home, took nature awhile to create them, That's only around half of them, I've a few dark coloured ones with similar values and traits, but at the moment the whitish ones fascinate me the most.
