Hello, this is my first post to this forum…I hope I don’t sound too much like the rookie gemmologist that I am! I have a pendant set with a small bright blue stone. I have a distant vision refractometer reading that indicates spinel, an unfamiliar spectrum with a wide absorption band in the blue, pinky red under Chelsea colour filter and a confusing picture on the microscope. I have attached a really poor photo showing an orange-brown mineral inclusion (label 1) which could be metallic or could be octahedral. There are also what look like gas bubbles (labelled 2). The blob marked 3 is a random reflection.
Synthetic? Natural? I would love any opinions. Apologies again for the poor photo. With thanks! Natasha
