How rare is this material from the Tsumeb, Namibia location? It seems most comes from Mexico. I found one cut stone for $1000/ct and a couple reasonable specimans(one pictured). I know they contain a small amount of arsenic.

Yes, it is very rare - gemmy cristals are often beautiful specimen so they don't cut it. A soft mineral.

I bought in spring show Dumortierite in Quarz from the new brazilian source described in GG spring 2015!!!
