Actually, that's not a bad idea. I bet most anyone would love a conversation piece like this on their coffee table...maybe even Solomon.

I just want my 160$ back...

that's a nice idea, Barbra.
i am just a bit confused here...
you was all so certain that its was not worth cutting
in general,
can one,see from the outer shell of a specimen, the quality of the whole crystals inside? (one,i mean geologist, not me of course)
the quality of what we see from the outside(consider that its a huge stone that weight more than 2kg) necessarily determine the quality of the whole parts? not possible by any chance that under all that garbage there are some nice parts worth faceting?
true about poeple sometimes...

Experience will tell you Dor that it is much wiser to buy a fine rough specimen if you want a fine faceted gemstone.

Solomon's corundum crystals (many they RIP) all formed under the same geologic conditions. Think that through. And in the future, you might want to listen to the advice you get here.

I suggest making him a terrarium in addition to the refund.

yeah. unfortunately you are right of course. that's what usually happen with low odds gambles like that we took. now after see the broken pieces
with my own eyes (it was my idea to break it but i didn't saw the results till now)
honestly, i saw a gravel that look nicer,so i dunno about the Terrarium idea. je je
best pieces are fade bluish green color, translucent at best, with many cracks, pits and inclusions all over, and with broken crystals on outer surface and bad looking shapes in general (a bonus received from the hammer) a real..... mess.
