Registration is free. Sorry, I had forgotten that I am "permanently" signed in.

They are talking about image editing in the context of scientific articles. The jist of it is that there is a gent called Dr. Hani Farid who is developing a set of tools to detect image manipulation in digital images.

I would cut and paste, but that might be a copyright problem. Sign up for free, the NY Times often has interesting articles anyways.

Thanks for posting the link, Gemma! Very interesting...wouldn't it be great if one could just download an eBay or other image, press a few buttons, and find out if the image was true or doctored?
