I'm from West Virginia. I've always loved gemstones and recently I'm looking into GG programs. Can't afford any right now, so I'm having a look at The Gemology Project in the meantime.

I don't have any equipment as of yet. I understand the Belomo 10x triplet is the overall preferred loupe. So unless that's changed, I'll start there ASAP.

Look forward to chatting with you all.

Welcome Teresa. I'm looking forward to your posts. :D
Yep, the Belomo loupe is a good one.
It's possible to make some DIY tools. Dr. Hanneman was the Master of home-made instruments.

Don't make the mistake of buying cheap instruments to start out. They will end up being throw aways, whereas, if you splurge with the top of the line, the instruments will last and be reliable for decades!
