I'm new to all this kinda stuff.

I've been making things a few years now but nothing like the wonderful pieces I've seen in the forums.

Jewelry ROCKS! Bet you hadn't heard that before.

Hmm... now what else should I say?

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

If you promise not to LOL to the point where I can hear you from my house :P I'll try posting the very first thing I made. Let me preface it with I just took the pic this morning and apparently I haven't had enough coffee so please pardon my photographic artistry or lack thereof.

I hope this works.

WOW it worked!!

NOW I also know how to resize to fit. WOO HOO!

That was an Amulet Bag I made. I saw a few pictures of fab pieces and said to myself "I can do that", only to discover that I needed to learn sewing, the peyote stitch, beads and sizes, pattern making...that never seemed to end LOL. It took about a 1 1/2 months to complete from total scratch.

This lead me to my second creation using a sodalite focal and making a single TEENY TINY knot on either end as to prevent any possibly chipping of the focal stone.

Thanks Barbara! :D

I kinda blame that 1st piece as to my decent into the depths of Gemology.

I found this site and began reading...and reading...and reading.... SO I figure I am going to learn much more of all things rocks!

I feel so very n00b about it all too...except Mom who considers everything I've made as works of art in the extreme! Ya gotta love Mom!

I'm looking into some basic instruments to help me too. I'm excited with all the possibilities and totally look forward to learning from such a great group of people here!!! :smt033
