Hi Sunrise,
A heartfelt welcome from another beginer - I know you'll find some solace, comfort, and very good friends here.

I recently joined the forum myself, and the welcome has been warm, sincere, and often hilarious.

I'm so sorry your daughter is so ill - please give her my love, and tell her I'll keep her in my prayers.

You're introduction really touched my heart, probably because it rang so many bells. I had to give up my career in nursing after contracting meningitis - nursing sick babies. The repurcusions have now been going on for twenty years.

Now my whole family are dying of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and our only hope of survival is if I can manage to start making a living designing jewellery [with no training]. Life can be very harsh and cruel at times - but sometimes I think the challenge is to endure, because ultimately as individuals you can only do so much to survive - or to change your circumstances. Maybe, in the end, how you fought the fight is nearly as important as the outcome.

Take all the comfort you can from the good things around you - as a fellow animal lover, I'm sure you do that already. If you want a laugh look up the thread in the General Discussion section headed "be an on-air expert" - somehow I managed to completely divert the discussion to a thread about slugs. It ends with a lovely Christmas Card Barbra posted of a beautiful slug in a santa hat - if you love animals, you'll love it.

Seriously though, you couldn't have found a nicer, more friendly group of friends than on this forum - when Crystal Star renammed me "the slug whisperer", she'll never know how much she lifted my spirits, and when Barbra posted that Christmas Card - well she saved me from utter despair that day.

Sunrise, I hope your situation improves, and if I can ever help in anyway just drop me a pm. I may know absolutely nothing about gemology yet, but I've got years worth of research on medical matters.

Shadowland is a hard place to be - but thankfully your faith, your family [including your animals], and your new friends on the forum, will all help pour some sunshine into the shadows.

I wish you every good thing, and every success, but most of all healing for both your daughter, and your heart.

Hopefully talk to you soon - you're new friend gemmsong.

Thank you Gemmsong! By the time I finished reading your very heartfelt Welcome I was in tears. You really touched my heart. I don't know if this is the place to go into this, but sometimes I just need to explain. Part of my working through this I guess. My daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer two and a half years ago, just three months after my grandson was born (he turned 3 today). She is in advanced stages of metastasized "Triple Negative" breast cancer and it is the most rare and hardest to fight. After two mastectomy's, a lymphectomy, surgery to remove a tumor from her brain last January, we just got news that the cancer has reemerged in her brain and she has over 20 small tumors there. A week before Christmas she started a new regimen of radiation treatments and head chemo along with the long list of chemos and pain meds for her body's metastasis. The Docs have finally come forward and told us to start preparing for the worst and that this last Christmas may be her last one with us. Last week, instead of Christmas shopping for her babies she pulled her strength together to go out with her husband to look around at burial locations and spent time planning with the funeral home. My "baby" was picking out a casket when she should have been planning for a joyous Holiday with her little ones. Needless to say she is my only child and I have been in non-stop tears for the last several months. My Doc says I have just gone into a grieving mode early. I'm doing everything I can to keep from drowning.

On a happier note. As I mentioned in my introductory note, I am hoping to turn my interest in gemology into more than a hobby. Something to work towards and make something of. Call it therapy, or a diversion, but none the less a genuine interest.

I too am an animal lover. What on earth did I say to give that away?8) Was it the "dogs and cats" or the three "quarter horses"?:) To be exact we have four big dogs - Sweetpea (Australian Shepard), Brandi (Red Border Collie), Goldie (Golden Spitz), Raja (handsome hound dog); three small house dogs - PooChee (Lhasa Apso), Ranger (Dachshund/Terrier mix), and Mystic (aka Missy) (pure bred miniature Dachshund), all of which are no bigger than an adult cat. With the exception of PooChee, every one of them are foundlings. Oh yes, and six cats - Elfie, Rocky, Lovey, Silvie, Ivan and Gris (pronounced Gree). When you live on a farm you need all these animals - the cats keep down the rats; the big dogs keep down the Coyotes; and the little dogs keep us warm. :D

Though I love our horses, they are my husband's special pride. All are registered quarter horses - Cinclusive, her daughter Cinsation, and Bees Sunrise Sonoita. Bee (Sunrise), a yearling, is a foundation quarter horse and I hope to get her registered as such within the next month. Cinsation and Cinclusive are in foal and we will have the patter of tiny hooves come this spring. They were both bred to foundation stallions.

I just want to tell you how much you touched my heart with your wonderful welcome and reply. I've been in need of a friend this past year and it always helps to find someone on your own wavelength and that has things in common. We live 45 miles east of Dallas out in the middle of the countryside between three small towns and sometimes it is days, if not weeks, before I see anything human besides my "hubby". :( I hope we can continue communicating and sharing. I do look forward to it so much and I look forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas with everyone else willing to share with me here at gemologyonline.com.

Hi Sunrise,
I've just received your reply and email.
Forgive me - I'm lost for words.
Your story broke my heart - I wish I was near you and could help in some way. Such tragedy leaves one feeling stupid and helpless.

How I wish I had known your circumstances earlier - conventional medicine has little, if any, interest in curing cancer.
I will look out the best websites I know for you, but off the top of my head contact - ralphmoss.com immediately.
If you can supply the diagnosis [which you can] he can prescribe the ultimate cancer treatment - I'll send you more details in an email, I don't really feel it's my place to be discussing such personal matters on a public forum.

At this stage I can't say for definite whether these other treatments are too late, but what I would defenitely say is - it's never too late to ask!

Please accept the prayers and love of my family, and I'll email you asap.

All my love gemmsong

Welcome to the family, Sunrise :D .

My prayers go out for you and your family.

Along with Gemmsong's recommendations, I'd suggest looking into Essiac tea. One place to start: http://www.essiacinfo.org/

Hello Sunrise, and welcome to the family. You have found a good home here, amongst kindred spirits, for sure.

Your story and your daughter's struggles are heart wrenching, and yet, she is still with you, and with God, all things are possible, including total and instantaneous remission, so don't give up hope, and hang onto your faith. I will certainly include you and her in my prayers and Reiki, with your permission. And gemmsong is absolutely correct; cancer is big business, but the cures are already out there but suppressed. There are so many things she can try, from Willard Water, to Hulda Clark devices, to Ellagic acid, just to name a few, in conjunction with an optimal diet for detoxifying, and building up the immune system. Gosh, there are so many possibilities for reversing things like cancers, including water (1/2 the body weight in ounces, with a pinch of natural sea salt) since the body is mostly water, and toxic wastes accumulate in cells.

Hearing such dire diagnoses is traumatic to the psyche, and some of Deepak Chopra's tapes would give her positive things to focus on to help induce healing on a quantum level, as the mental state is important, though fragile after such trauma. If you PM me with your email address, I'll look thru my health folder and send you things that you and she might want to consider incorporating.

BTW, I, too, live very remotely, on an 18 acre ranch (mailbox is 1/2 mile away) in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. I raise ducks for amusement, and chickens for eggs, and have a blue & gold macaw named Chief Justice, an African Gray named Smokey, a cockatiel named Zipper, and I recently lost my yellow-naped Amazon named Wazoo. I have a Chow named Miss Morgan Fairchow, 4 cats - one a very feral Bengal named Schuyler, one half bobcat named Shaman, and two young ones I rescued from the forest, named Pippen and Snuggle. Then there's the 4 1/2' long blue iguana named Malachite, and the chipmunk I rescued from the jaws of death (cats) last year, named Chip, of course. I'm the type who hatches duck eggs in a styrofoam container on my counter over the winter, using a nightlight and cup of water for humidity, and named my darlings Gadget & Gizmo because of how they came into the world.

My life partner is the most amazing natural healer, with a Chiropractic degree as well as Naturopathic, the golden needle award in Acupuncture, he's a Diplomate in Pain Management and a Certified Clinicial Neurologist, just to give you an idea (I could go on for days) and he cures the quote, unquote, 'incurable' in his office on a regular basis, all naturally, and with his hands. He doesn't advertise, yet people come to him from other states, and around the world, because he fixes people, and they tell others about him. I work in the invisible energy fields as a Reiki Master, and am the founder of Life Science Ministries in 1994. If you find some treatment you'd like to try, feel free to run it by us and we'll let you know our experience with it, if any.

My heart and prayers are with you and your child, as I only have one, too, and can only imagine the terror you must be going through. Hang onto your faith, and try to stay focused on every bit of her progress, and not on any setbacks. May God hold you both in His Hand, and reveal His glory and perfection through her.

God Bless you both~

PS: Don't let her use a cell phone or cordless phone. If she lives near high tension lines, have her stay elsewhere for the time being. Also, no dimmer switches, and no LCD clocks within 6' of her. All things that press on the immune system must be removed from her surroundings to give hers a boost. No sugar, no white flour, no white salt, no processed foods, etc., and only organic meats and veggies to eliminate those toxins from pressing on her immune system. In my ND course there was a whole segment on green grapes curing virulent cancers, when people eat nothing else but them for weeks; it's like the cancers simply burned up...there's so much out there she can try. Keep the faith!

Hi Sunrise,

Great advice you got from Morning Dove and Crystal Star - didn't I tell you this was a great forum.
It may even develope a great alternative medicine off-shoot forum.

I've researched loads of sites for you, but when it comes to computing and putting up links etc - I'm thick as two short planks - so I'll have to revert to the very mundane method of emailing them all to you.

Crystal Star was absolutely on the ball about protecting your daughters immnune system just know - especially when her system is being overwhelmed with chemo. But I would also add - many alternative therapies include Aromatherapy - AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS.
Even try to talk your daughter into refraining from prefumes, scented body lotions, scented candles etc.
Irrespective of how pleasent these products may seem - they are actually highly toxic, and will overwhelm her liver and immune system - which are already under trmendous strain.

As far as the electro-magnetic and radiation exposure Crystal was referring to - there is a specialist paint company called Ecos - who produced specialist paints [ in themselves non-toxic] but can also "shield" against elecro-magnetic exposure and radiation exposure, as well as a range which absorbs Formaldehyde and plasticators from household goods.
I'll send you their address [need to find it first].

I hope to get that special card we spoke about on Wednesday, and post it off to you.
I'll also send you a very large [ and unfortunately complicated] diagram I've been working on for about two years now.
It lays out the pathophysiology of several chronic [fatal] metabolic disease processes in excruciating detail - but as cancer is also a metabolic disease, and integral to the process, it may help you understand how all the body systems and organs communicate and are interlinked. And how each is affected by the internal disease process.
Also the multitude of negative feed-back loops which develope.

I call it the Energy Connundrum - and it's been peer reviewed by some of the worlds leaading doctors, and even used to win court cases.
I'd always hoped to manage to finish the book [ of which it is a part] but I just haven't been well enough to do so.
I hope it will help you.
I can only imagine how overwhelming all the info you get hit with must be if you don't have a medical background - hopefully the diagram will help a little.
Feel free to use it in anyway it helps - I have the copyright on the material, but you have my unlimited permission to use the diagram itself, and the info therein.

Pick the important points in the diagram, and applying the proper treatments to those process, can facilitate healing, or allowing the body to heal. Believe it or not - that is what cancer patients need - the assisstance to allow their own system to defeat the cancer [ which it definitely can do] rather than being filled with poisons, which destroy the internal system more and more with each subsequent treatment.

I'll send notes along, pointing out these vital areas, along with websites to get you all the natural help that is needed. There is an abundance of great information available - the problem is there is probably too much, and you need some backgroundinfo to recognise the genuine from the quackery. But don't worry we can do that.

Try over the holidays to relax a little, take a deep breath and try to enjoy some time with your daughter and her family.
Remember, you're not alone anymore - lot's of us here care very much, and will help all we can - so let us carry the burden for you for a llittle while - you need the rest. You're health is important too.

I'll be in touch soon,
Love gemmsong

Wow, gemmsong, I had no idea you were so in tune with the way we view things. I'm quite impressed with what you said, and would love it if you would let me read your paper, or at least make sure you direct me to it once you have published it. How exciting!! Brilliant!! I hope 2007 is your year to get your information out there, and into the hands of the people who need it most. God bless you and your wonderful endeavor! :D

Hi Crystal Star,

Thanks for the encouragement - I was really impressed with the advice both you and Morning Dove gave.

I think it's great that people are pulling together, and trying to help Sunrise and her beautiful daughter through these terrible times.

As far as sharing my research with you - I'd be happy to - but as I had to say to sunrise - it would have to be by post - my computing skills are appalling.
The energy connundrum diagram is currently 8 pages of A4 cardboard stuck together [ and growing]. If I knew how to translate that onto the computer it would be marvellous.
Just know everytime I figure out a new connection - I've to redraw the
whole thing - altering and adding to it on screen would be great.

I believe there is one micro-biologist [ now retired] who spent his career mapping Krebs Cycle, and everything that could go wrong therein leading to disease. Apparently, his diagram now covers the four walls of his study!
I would dearly love to see that

Sorry, food arriving - finish the message after dinner

Love gemmsong

Hi MoDo,

You are a riot, everytime I read on of our posts - I nearly choke.

Do you have a remedy for the "somewhere safe syndrome"?
You know that organisational mystery which impells us to put really important things into "safe places" so we'll find them easily.
Of course they're never usually seen again

Been looking all day for that daigram for Sunrise - come over and give me a hand while I still have a fragment of sanity left.

SEE you soon,
Love gemmsong

When I need to find something I've misplaced I say a prayer thanking the Lord for showing me where it is, and then I "call" it to me. It's very seldom that something I can't explain doesn't turn my head and point me straight to it, or I'll find myself wandering into a room, and there it is, and every time it amazes me. :D

My problem, Gemmsong, is I put things "somewhere safe", then forget where that place is :smt017 . Right now I'm missing my bible and three bras ... figure that one out  .
