Hi all New to the forum, interesting in faceting. Currently reading through "Amateur Gemstone Faceting Vol 1" and wondering if this is a hobby for me. I have no prior experience and I don't know anything about stones or gems. But it looks super fascinating and I can cope with a semi-expensive hobby.
Not sure how feasible it is to buy rough though, from Denmark, as a hobbyist that cannot really travel to many gem shows or other locations. Also not quite sure how feasible it is to get rid of the cut stones again, to prevent building up a massive collection! BUT, those are things I am fine with learning as I go along.
So far, my first step is to finish the book and begin reading through these forums.

Hello and welcome. Well you picked two good places to start. Learning some of the common cutting gems is very helpful, and as you gain more knowledge you will find sources for all.
