Wish I could, went last year. If you find any Andalusite that is a reasonable price let me know. Have fun and let us know what all you find.

Dunno. I'll let you all know. Predominately minerals specimens from what I've gathered. Right up many of our streets, no?
After the show I'm going to Canyonlands and Arches National Parks for a drive through. I haven't been to Colorado and Utah since I was in college. Every few decades it's good to follow up. .

OK! There are several shows associated with this event. I went to the Colosseum Show today. The aesthetics were similar to some of the Tucson tented events, but I must say there are far fewer dealers with some really interesting mineralogical obscurities.
Couple things I'm going back for tomorrow....some of the Palestinian petroleum bearing quartz xls with carbon inclusions, similar to Herkimer but awesome with a UV light!
And.....some of the Moroccan blue barite xls.
I also stumbled on some Tanzanian green kyanite xls.....not convinced yet. Rare, yes. Pretty, no.
I was a penny wise and a pound foolish today...I'm going back tomorrow to drop the cash.

No andalusite, thus far. Going to another show tomorrow.

That green kyanite ranges from 'eh' to 'eh!' in my experience. It's not really awesome like goo orange kyanite, though.
(I also have some cute green-with-blue-stripe kyanites which were apparently found almost inside my city, which is neat too. similar color to the Tanzanian material).
Good luck at the rest of the show! I hope you'll keep us updated.

I bought some lovely cabinet specimens of Afghani blue kyanite xls. I found some interesting Septarian nodules with chocolate brown velvety small drusy xls in the vug. For some reason they really talked to me so I got one. I don't have any Septarian in my collection.
Found some thumbnails of drusy lavender and mint vesuvianite from Asbestos Quebec.

Today, I'll start at the Ramada Inn and report back with anything interesting.

Sounds like a lot of different cool things to see and buy. :P We all wish we were there too.

I went to Ramada Inn today and it was visually the other bookend of Ramada Inn Tucson.
But not as good.
All the bargains and collectible curiosities were at the Colosseum in my opinion.
I drove back and bought 2 expensive (for me) blue barite specimens and a few of the mini quartz xls with petroleum.
Wait till you see them with LWUV! I'll shoot a pic when I get home.

Off tomorrow for Moab. :D
