And better yet, can anyone copy it and put it onto YouTube for those of us without that channel?

As the Spinel Symposium was ending, Roger made this announcement about Koivula on Discovery.
I wrote it down but that's all I know.

Follow-up.
I sent an email to Roger Merk and received this reply:
Quote:
John will be on the Science Channel on Sunday, May 10th at 9:00 pm
on a show titled "Meteorite Men".

Yeah, the Discovery Network is affiliated with a lot of other channels like the Science channel.

HERE is the May 10 line-up for the Science Channel.

There's a daily calendar for each of the associated networks where you can view the upcoming shows.

I found the "Meteorite Men" listing a while back, but wasn't sure which particular show he would be offering expertise on. He has many talents.

I assumed he wouldn't be in the North Sea fishing for Cod or something. :)

Even "Myth Busters" could have been a possibility. 8)

Hi Barbra,

Sunday past, after Hockey watching and beer drinking, I had a random memory synapse firing that said, "Koivula, 10:00 PM, Science Channel.".

I tuned in at 9:54 PM and caught Mr. Koivula. Seems my synapse was off by an hour, the show started at 9:00 PM, but my intuition came through in perfect timing.

Looks like they tracked him down at the GIA campus in Carlsbad. He offered a few non-technical comments on olivine (peridot) found in earth impacted meteorites with nice intact crystals.

He likes and finds them interesting and noted their substantial value as compared to Earth bound creations. Provenance does carry a certain "Pay for availability," to it. :)

Don't know if he was on earlier in the show. I don't think so, from what I viewed.
