I don't know if this has anything to do with the latest update, but it seems there's a problem with the search engine: when I'm doing a search for the term 'microscope' into the 'gem equipment' forum, I only get one match found (while there are hundreds of post about microscopes in this section of the forum)...

I'm on it.
Presently re-indexing the search function.
It will take a few minutes..... 8)

DONE!

Okay, I'll be the first to say it ... I don't care much for this new look :( . Guess I'm just an old lady who doesn't like things to change so quickly :| 8)

Any chance we can get Flash to embed?

okeej... here we go:

Code:
[flash=600,361]http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv131/selectgem/PD026-002-001.swf[/flash]

results in:

which you have to start playing by right mouse click - play (autoplay is considered annoying, people have a choice to play it now)

This doesn't want to work in Internet Exploder btw... haven't figured out yet why not...

It's not just a new "look" MoDo, the format and programming of the old forum was 5 years old and many support features were being phased out.
If you saw the tweaking that was necessary to make the new layout remotely resemble the original, your head would spin. It took a couple weeks to reprogram the format.
Play around with it for awhile, lots of new bells and whistles which make it more interactive and fun.

I guess I just spent too much time in the Rest Area on the Information Superhighway  . I'm not much into bells and whistles ... I did play a clarinet in school, though

I'm with you. I read for information, not fun and games. Anyway, thanks to whoever got rid of the ugly colors on the names.

I didn't mean to imply the bells and whistles aren't nice ... it's just that I don't know much about using them  . As to fun and games ... sign me up! 8)

as Barbra said, the update wasn't done to adding fun and games, the phbb version was 5 years old and unfit to challenge some issue, mainly regarding security and spammers, i dunno if you are aware about the work needed to made this place be the way it is..... however none of us in the mod team was extremely happy to have the overcharge of work this change requested..... nothing is requested to the members, just a bit of patience...

Barbra is currently working on it also, if it could be done, will be done, again, just a little bit of patience plz...

ciao
