For every member here who is a GIA Alumni, it is the time of year to elect the one in your community that deserves his/her place in the spotlights. This yearly award goes to the alumni which has been the best gemology ambassador.
I'm alas not a GIA Alumni, but if I were, I would nominate Barbra Voltaire this year for providing an international gemological platform which we all benefit greatly from.
Any of you who are, please download the nomation form at http://gemologyproject.com/Chapter_to_G ... n_Form.doc , fill it out and send it asap so we can give some back.
Oh what the heck, I'm gonna fill it out and send it in anyway, even if my vote won't count.

Last night at our local GIA Alumni meeting I was presented with a certificate as Local Member of the Year.
In Tucson, GIA will announce international Member of the Year and I am apparently being considered.
