Would anyone know why there might be problems with getting the Forum in South Africa. My priciple supplier of rough would like to visit GO, but he can't get the Forum. He is in Hilton in the northeast part of South Africa. I email him all the time.

We have several members from South Africa.
Have him email me directly and I'll see what I can do.

The only time I ever had a problem a few years back and my ISP gave me a proxy to use which was run by Telkom (state line operator) which fixed it.

Quote:
If you are from South Africa, and make use of SAIX, and you get continuously logged out, do the following in FireFox:

Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings.

Mark "Manual Proxy Configuration".

At "HTTP Proxy" cache.saix.net or dsl-cache.saix.net
Port:8080

Tick "Use this proxy server for all protocols".

Do the same if you get logged out at PHPBB forums when you try to post.

But since then I have used several computers and I've never had the issue repeated.

Do you know what type of line he has for internet access? Our "broadband" is actually far from it (also the most expensive is the world) so there are a fair amount of people still using dial-up.

This might be easier to follow:

If you're using Internet Explorer 7 (IE6 should be the same):
1. In IE, click on Tools->Internet Options
2. Go to the "Connections" tab.
3. Click on the "LAN Settings" button.
4. Check "Use a proxy server for your LAN..."
5. Type cache.saix.co.za into the Address box.
6. Type 8080 into the port box.
7. Check "Bypass proxy server for local addresses"
8. Click the OK button.

If you're using FireFox:
1. In FireFox, click on Tools->Options
2. Click the "Advanced" button at the top right.
3. Select the "Network" tab.
4. Click on the "Settings" button.
5. Select "Manual proxy configuration".
6. Type cache.saix.co.za into the "HTTP Proxy" box.
7. Type 8080 into the "port" box.
8. Click the OK button.
9. Click the OK button again.

I just received an email from my supplier in Africa and persistence has won the day and he has been enjoying our wide opinions on GO. Thanks for the effort to help, I really appreciate it.
