Hi Keemoog
I did the A.G. so will tell you what my views are.
The Synthetics & treated stones - you must do this course, you will learn so much from this. You will never look at stones the same way again, ever!!
Diamonds - another very important course, I think this will be the most beneficial for you at the moment.
Coloured stone grading & pricing. You learn so much from this course. It changes the way you buy stones no matter how much you thought you knew beforehand. But as you said you will not be buying stones professionally so then the other two courses would be best for you now.
Also, Keemoog, thank you for the advice you gave me after you did the gemstone I.D. The AIGS is the most fantastic place to study gemology.

Hi keemoog99, I am AG from AIGS, I suggest you that you first complete the Synthetics and treatments one month course because after this course you will be able to identify natural, synthetic and treated stones with using limited instruments. you have already done the three months course of color stone ID.
After this course I suggest that you choose the Diamond Grading and pricing course and the last choice is color stones grading and pricing.
thanks debbie glad you had a great time there. i knew you would.
so i am thinking synthetics april 2012 and diamonds june 2012. are those still accurate dates? if i have any money left after those two and am not homesick i would consider colored stones and grading. need to make sure those courses are going to run and that the price is still reasonable.
can someone recommend a website that has synthetic inclusions i can look at before i go to school? looking forward to getting back to bangkok and spending days in the lab just looking at stones.
I'm one of the AG student from AIGS and i also recommended you to start the Synthetic course first then following by the Colored Stone grading and pricing.
