Many of us read every post in the forum... also, it counts the same person multiple times if they click on the thread multiples times. It's likely that the people who've read this thread so far just don't have any information to offer you... like me. :) Sorry.

I went through the entire A.G program. Take as many classes as you can from Jayesh Petal. I highly recomend him.

AIGS is a great school. Don't know the teacher. I had Mary Brown for Gem ID. Great price, lots of neat places to go and see stones. Visit Scott Davies on the first floor of JTC where AIGS is located. There have been some upgrades since I went in 2007. Will go back in 2009. Go to Bangkok. You won't be sorry.

The school staff is great and will help you if you have any questions. Make sure you have your visa paperwork in order. I believe three months is the max then you have to go out of country and can come back in for another month. Talk to the registration office.

Have lots of fun. Ask lots of questions. They will probably do a field trip or two. You can get all the equipment you want across the street, although the school has everything. Just ask the teacher where the best place to go is and how much you should pay. Make sure you eat lots of Italian food at the restaurant right next door to JTC. Don't forget to go see Scott - he's got all kinds of neat stones, but no rubies or sapphires, but sphenes, spinels, maw sit sit (a undervalued beautiful stone), etc. If you don't have Gemstones of the world, get it. Good book not expensive - the older versions are even cheaper. Ok, have fun.

Hi,
I meet mr p.j. joseph at AIGS around 12 months ago. He seemed like a nice chap and in the short while I saw him he showed great Knowledge. He also asked me to do a session on Australian Sapphire for the students that were there,I think they all enjoyed some real hands on experiance stories and seeing some samples.
Good Luck
