Only number 7 left to crack then, topaz or dravite?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

we have a winner!!

Topaz (unfortunately not Imperial Topaz) is the correct answer. This particular piece is in the Smithsonian and it's huge (thousands of carats).

Congratulations, Jung Kee. PM me and I'll send you info for download.

Hello Bill! Thank you for a great Quiz! :D

I think that it was gem-n00b who won though, since he guessed at topaz before me! Your program seems to be very useful though, maybe I'll buy it when I've the funds for it.

Btw, can you tell us what the inclusions in the topaz are? And how in the world did you get such a good picture of the stone? Are you working at the institute? :?:

Hi Jung Kee,

Well, to be honest, I don't know what the inclusions in the Topaz are. The picture was easy to get because this thing was huge (like over a foot tall). And, unfortunately, I don't work there (would like to).

Regarding the Imperial Topaz guess by gem-n00b, I did struggle with that. I said to name the variety and in this case it is generic Topaz but not Imperial Topaz. That said, I will award a copy of GT Pro to both Jung Kee and gem-n00b. Just PM me and I will give you both instructions for download.

Thanks for a great time, All. I really enjoyed it.

Africanuck! Do you really think me that dainty? No, it is chrysanthemum for my shower! ;)

Well, since the night brought you fame and glory in the quiz, you can hardly say that you woke up "dead"

(Chrysanthemum's are primarily used for funerals in my adopted part of the world)

Only if you live around certain parts of the Mediterranean.

You're probably safe up there in your part of the world

Well, I suppose so, since people around here only knows of mosses and lichens...but I think the shampoo is of French manufacture, what does it mean there?
