Name this stone first (* see rules at bottom) and you will win a free download of Gemology Tools Professional 8.4 (software for the professional gemologist, the gemology student or the gemstone enthusiast).
1) Our mystery stone is brown in color. Does that narrow it down for you?
2) It is transparent. Gee, no help there either. Still over 100 possibilities.
3) It is doubly refractive biaxial positive (DR B+). That helps a bit.
4) It has abraded facet junctions. That helps a lot.
Well, that should narrow it down to just a few possibilities. I doubt if this stellar group needs any further help but if so I will list the defining clue in a few hours.
*Rules: you may only put one stone in your answer. If you list several stones and one is the right one it DOES NOT COUNT. If you already own GT Pro 8.4 let others play. Thanks!
PS: Just to push GT Pro a bit: Elapsed time using these clues <30 seconds. If it takes you 30 minutes maybe you'll want to...

Also, if you own a previous version of GT Pro please refrain from using it (just to keep it fair for those trying to win their first copy).

Yes Raw, please post your answer here. That's the only way you can win. I haven't even looked at your PM.

Very good guess. Meets all the requirements. However, our stone is different.

OK, I'm going to make it easy for some one. This is a very soft stone (hardness less than 4).
