I'm sick of all those beautiful eye clean cut stones with mind-blowing colors, so right here, right now, and only for you, Cascaillou™ is happy to present you: The Ugly

Image
Isn't it ugly? :smt055

you guess.

Game rules:
Each player can ask two questions at a time, which I will answer yes or no.
Only one of the two questions can be what you think the stone is.
For instance, Question: is it amorphous AND is it opal? Answer: no and no.
Other example: Question: is it amorphous AND is it from autria? Answer: no and no.

Hmmm Can't tell much about the crystal shape. Is it a nasty beryl?

Tourmaline?

No.

Free clues: the shape of the small elongated crystal which is placed vertically in between the two main crystals can help a bit (not so much). Also, cleavage in a specific direction can be seen from the picture.

Is the hardness 7 or greater?
Is the refractive index between 1.60 and 1.70?

Wait...the rules have changed.
Originally, one could ask 2 questions without guessing about the identity.

You still can. Sorry for editing the rules lately, but I did it so it's more free play. Of course everybody can play several times.
