Not easy this one (I hope).

A clue a day until someone gets it.

Clue 1. Don't focus on the colouration.

A fair shot..... but no.

For playing, I'll give you an extra clue before going to bed.

Clue 2. I'm not often faceted but occasional examples turn up. Some call me a 'collector's stone'.

I'm guessing kyanite as a possibility.

Sorry Rick, Danielle was warmer.

But for playing, here's another clue - then I really am closing down for a few hours.

Clue 3. As you can see, I'm quite petite. The biggest like me found has been reported as 6cm long.

You're getting colder... :(

A new clue for every try then. Here's a solid piece of help:

Clue 4. My compound is tri-morphous.

Hmm. Maybe a Zoisite?

Noo... look again at that end-on view.

Clue 5. Trimorphs... Cinderella and the Ugly Sisters. I can tell you that I'm not Cinderella!

Nope. The end-on view is fairly diagnostic for the crystal system.

Clue 6. Though I'm considered fairly rare, I'm widely distributed. Amongst other places, you can find me in the Eiffel Mountains, somewhere in Italy and in Myanmar.

See above.

Clue 7. My hardness is <7. Not so for one of my sister morphs.

Good man! Have a cigar!

Listed in GEMSDAT (as you will know) but not in Gemology Tools Pro. This may have thrown some people.
