i've seen some kashan rubies with those granular "fingerprints".
this body color is really tricky.
like barbara said, it looks just like hydrothermal emerald. maybe its fluorescing so strongly that its desaturated reddish color = green body color + fluorescing red !!

Ok, good job guys!

And we have a winner: Roshanravan (it's not tea but coca-cola, though :D ) Congrats! =D> =D> =D>

So yes, synthetic analoge of natural mineral -ice- is a cube of man-made ice in your drink!
(more about ice as mineral: http://geology.com/articles/water-mineral/)
And the synthesis process is not hydrothermal nor flux, just direct melting and solidification! :D

Here is an uncropped picture:

and more, to avoid any doubt:

 After this puzzle was solved, I poured myself a glass of water at work and put in a few ice cubes.
Really quite wondrous. I walked around to my co-workers telling them to check out the cubes.....I think they thought I was in a drugged stupor.

As much iced tea as I drink and I failed to stare sufficiently at the ice cubes #-o . Guess I'd better rectify that situation from now on 8) .
