 Post subject: what am I? ancient faceter?

a friend in CA sent these 2 pics of an OLD faceting machine she knows zip about. I will try to get more info, pics if anybody cares, I dont even know if the motor runs. But maybe someone needs parts or something. All I can say, is DINOSAUR!

Wow, that does have a certain skeletal look. Can't wait to hear more about it.
Jade is very hard to definitively identify in the field (short of the hammer test ofc). Doing it from a photo is even harder, alas. It's a distinct possibility, however.

It is an old B & I Gem Maker. It was sold in the 60s at about $50

Looks like serpentine to me - it doesn't look solid, but rather just a crust of material around a boulder. But maybe I am reading the picture wrong.

Anybody out there interested? I am just a middleman, I live in SC and the machine or whats left of it is in central CA
