Tom Chatham, Chatham Created Gems
Tom Chatham is a pioneer in the field of synthetic diamond production. He entered the business in 1965 working for Chatham Research Labs and crystal growing giant, his father, Carroll Chatham. Tom began his quest for making diamonds following a GIA report on Sumitomo Electric in 1984. In 1993, Chatham Created Gems announced their introduction of Created Diamonds from a joint venture in Siberia. That was then moved to Kiev where white stones were achieved on a profitable basis and introduced at the 1996 JCK Show. In 2001, Tom Chatham introduced the created diamonds he sells today in pink, yellow and blue.

It's tomorrow, not today if that makes any difference.

Yeah I know but 1 am chat will be done around 3am Sunday Morning my time :-( even if I wasn't sick I would suffer the next day on three hours of sleep. we are 17 hours ahead of Pac time I thinks. Unless day light savings goes into effect then I will get 18 hours ahead. We don't use DST here on Guam.

We along with some other pacific Islands and some of Australia start the day out the for rest of the world :-) So we are way outta whack when it comes to time zone stuff.

Well that was a very interesting chat! Amazing that Carroll Chatham was already trying to create diamonds at 14 years old!

Gemma deeply and sincerely apologizes to Doos for having been unable to attend the Chatham chat, but Consumers Engergy pooped out for miles around at approximately 8:10 am  and the power did not come back on until after 3 PM.

And even then I would have been absent as at 10:55 am, I checked around the barn before I left and a horse was down. Six hours later . . . [sigh]

If I wrote a book about my life no one would ever believe it!

Sara,

Doos usually posts the logs the day after the chats.

The previous logs are located at: http://yey.be/yglogs/
These are a mix of celebrity chats (that are named as such) and the Saturday student chats hosted by Doos and Annie.

Happy reading! :D

Hi Scott,

Hope you are feeling better, Tom's chat was interesting and it was a successful morning/night for us all.. We hope you can make it for the next speaker in due course.

My times are also a bit out of whack too :P with the timezone stuff. I was still trying to recover from it during the day.

Hoping you will Get Well Soon.

Besides, we live in everybodys' tomorrows'

Annie
