Thanks for the link, Doos!

It was a great chat... Too bad I missed the end (got kicked out somehow... my net connection has been giving me headaches lately)!

Congratulations on making it possible for us to reach great people as Mr. Chatham! :D

Here is the feedback from Chatham

Quote:
I enjoyed the experience. I've given some unusual lectures, one on the telephone to a live audience, many to non English speaking gemologists, and now this chat room. It certainly tests your typing skills! I hope my answers were complete enough. It's tough to just talk on and on, that's why I tried to give some hint of where I was going. I enjoyed it but I do spend many hours a day on a computer, even on vacation. I have no choice if I want to get away.

I would certainly endorse this type of exchange to anyone, so feel free to use my name if it is of any interest. I think Alan Hodgkinson from Scotland would be excellent as well as Antoinette Matlins.
Regards,
tom chatham

It really was a great chat. I'm glad he seems to have enjoyed himself as well, no breakfast not withstanding, the poor man.

We ought to think of some sort of lapel pin or something to send to all of the people who do this with us, so that when they meet up here or there, it will be like a secret guru chat club who instantly recognizes each other. 8)

"Oh My God!! You too?????" or rather "You got roped into it too???"

Lol.

I will send out invitations to all past speakers with a CC e-mail, so they can join and know they were not the only victims.

It's been really great that all of these people have been so generous with their time.

Yes it's amazing that they do this on an empty stomache, jetlag etc all for a bottle of wine.
Shows how much love they have for the profession and that we gemologists are a tight and open community.

Maybe they'll meet up in Tucson and say "did yours have cork in it aswell?"

It was a very good chat, Mr. Chatham was informative. The idea for a lapel pin is very funny

Africanunck always seems to ask the questions I want asked. :!: that makes it very easy for me. (snickering)

It's a joined effort.

I do have one request for future chats. Start reading and make notes/questions.

That's a good idea Doos. Sometimes though, I have refrained from asking questions that I have prepared, depending on the direction that the chat is taking, so it doesn't always work out the way we plan.

Pssst Sniz...

I think that he's worried that letting me ask too many questions is going to make me even more chatty than I already am.
