lol. i'm beginning to think this would be a great program to begin. honestly, the addiction of collecting garnets of every color, flavor, species, origin, and cut has a grip on me. i'm constantly searching for beautiful garnets to collect and have in my possession. i must have that garnet!! i have garnets on reserve to carry me into the new year, trying to figure out how to manage purchasing my next garnet and get the bills and other expenses paid. my husband will probably send a copy of my obituary to whom i purchase garnets after he puts me out of my misery of this obsession.
my teeth and hair may fall out--but i will have beautiful garnets!! lol

This past weekend I saw the most beautiful demantoid EVER... sadly it was priced out of my reach for the time being... but it was STUNNING. If anyone's looking to spend a few thousand for a 1-2 carat demantoid, let me know.

i am afraid i'm becoming a garnet addict! it started with an 8.18 spess purchased from richard wise..... i controlled myself until august when i got a fab mali from gene. it seems that everywhere i look there is a garnet asking to come home with me. at one time i thought garnets were cheap red/black things........and i avoided them. but once i started on the good stuff, i found myself with a garnet craving....... my jones for quality garnets has me lurking here and on the internet, and trying to be conspicous as i pop into high end jewelry stores to stare at the eye candy. do i need treatment? or should i just keep trying to satisfy this jones and buy more garnets?
Just picked up a few special garnets from one of my dealers in Kenya last week. As soon as the rest of the dops come in for the Fac-ette machine I'll get to cutting them.

A friend has asked me to cut ( more later on the situation) her 19 carat piece of Tsavorite Garnet rough. She bought it from Tom Schneider last year but has to sell it. It's a nice roundish piece of top color and very good clarity.. it looks like it will cut a 6+ carat stone... It'll go up here first ( after the tanzanite ).
I too am a garnet addict.. It happened after my dealer offered me a 'sample' just to try out.. I should have never taken that first cut.. my life has been reduced to red -eye searching late at night on the net, for pictures of garnet porn.. Flashy, sparkly, intense... ah the rush... I can only get what I need when I finish a garnet.. then I fondle it, and look deep into it's soul, filling mine with the light...and for a brief moment.. i'm normal...

My name is Rock Lobstah and I am a garnet addict. After a big 1kilo purchase of rose almandine garnet I decided to swear off 'red' for a long while. Makes sense. Perfectly resonable decision.
But then, minedirect sent their newsletter out this morning. I wake up every morning and turn on my laptop in bed and check mail. There it was, sent out at 7:00am. It was 8:00am, the e-mail was an hour old! I like nearly all stones, anything that's good. I had to go through it ALL, S***. Had to act fast, skipped flourite, skipped some others, always read the tourmanine, and there is always a lot. But is it right? big enough? what % clean? REALLY look at the colors. I've never sold a cut stone...but what color sells? I know already, I'm a gemologyonline addict as well. skip, skip, time ticking, read, skip, cool facts!!!, shoot! Keep moving, man!
And then. garnets. oohh, you white whale. I have to process this as well. Just have to. You understand me, I know. Up and down the list of pretty pics...I fire...lot 409.
Couple people replied to the offer of the rose almandine. I picked the ones I liked so, yes, it's going at .17/ct. But I am meeting someone from this site in the next week or two. I asked and I can show him and make sure what I send is a really really good deal so no one worries. Little longer but a better way I figure.
