I feel like we're going to need some more details here. An SG is a good start but we need more context. A picture would be really nice too.

Perhaps what we call boulder opal in the UK, i.e. matrix with small shows of colour.

Definitely not Boulder Opal!

Must be very low quality Honduran matrix opal perhaps?

Anyway, something not worth setting into jewellery...

I bought some Honduran opal years back....it has become seriously ugly.

That's interesting--what happened to it? Some of it is resin treated of some kind or other which I guess could cause some issues with durability or stability.
