Hi, Can anyone recommend which Fluorite to purchase as new collector?
Stones that are considered "starter" or "budget" Fluorite.
I am new to Fluorite as well as collecting.
I am attending Tucson this week and would like to visit dealers with some focus and "knowledge".
Any suggestions or direction would be helpful. Thanks.

Fluorite: This photo shows several beautiful blue cubic crystals of fluorite with occasional pyrite crystals on their faces. Fluorite is commonly found as cubic crystals, but blue crystals are unusual. The blue color can be caused by trace amounts of yttrium substituting for calcium in the fluorite crystal structure. Here is a site selling fluorite for collectors. I am posting it for informational purposes only.

I looked at the site and found this:

Price:
US $1.00
Buy It Now
Add to cart
Add to Watchlist
30-day returns
Shipping:
$2,999.99 Standard SpeedPAK from Greater China | See details

International shipment of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges.
Shipping help - opens a layer

Located in:
东海县, 江苏省, China

I highly dislike sites that mislead customers by having the price be $1 and shipping be $2999
Those prices are ridiculous anyway - any decent gem show will have much much cheaper prices.

Totally agree. The site is a scam attempt.....but the pictures are good.

For $3,000 one could go and pick it up personally.

At first look it looked like just a few listed that way, but if you filter by under $100 you get a larger amount. Looks like a creative way to hide the declaration value by hiding in the shipping. The seller has a good feedback rate, but again if you look at the details the feedback is mostly items purchased through bidding and $3,4,5 U.S. with free shipping, and $30-$50US with a small shipping fee.
Very strange in deed. Do not see any of these high price items as sold or feedback given.

@GreenSpinel,
You can try
Top Gem Minerals
1893 North 11th Ave
Tucson, AZ 85705
Just a little north of the Convention Center off Granada
There also used to be a vendor in the building behind them that sold Chinese mineral specimens.
If your looking for museum grade or just want to be amazed, venture out to the Westward Look.
