It is with great sadness I'd like to announce Dr. Hanneman passed away on December 12, 2020. His legacy will live on forever!

I guess anything is possible from madagascar, but while the sg would include jermejevite as a possibility I don't think it is diagnostic on its own. RI would be very helpful as well, especially since you already have a faceted stone there.

Madagascar is a source for colorless Jeremejevite - quite large stone compared to Burma and Namibia...

Nice blue like this one ai know only from Namibia and in tiny crystals from Eifel district in Germany.

Kornerupine? Grandidierite?

Keep us updated...

Blue kornerupine would be my guess.
The SG is about right and it can be pleochroic with a colorless direction.
